The short version

• Tool inputs never leave your browser. Every tool on Xerobit runs client-side. Your JSON, tokens, passwords, and files stay on your device.
• We collect minimal analytics (page views, anonymous visits) to understand which tools are useful.
• We use Google AdSense to serve ads, which may use cookies (details below).
• We do not sell personal data. We do not send marketing email unless you explicitly subscribe.

What Xerobit processes locally in your browser

When you paste JSON into the formatter, decode a Base64 string, test a regex, or use any other tool on this site, the computation happens entirely in JavaScript running in your browser. The input is never transmitted to Xerobit's servers.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and privacy-respecting. It collects:

• Page URL
• Referrer
• Country (derived from IP, IP itself is not stored)
• Device type (desktop / mobile / tablet)
• Browser name

No individual user tracking. No cross-site profile.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Xerobit uses Google AdSense to display ads, which helps keep the tools free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This is called personalized advertising. You can opt out of personalized ads by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Third-party vendors (including Google) use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. You can opt out of Google's use of cookies for advertising by visiting Google Ad Policies.

Under EU/UK GDPR and California CCPA rules, you can also refuse consent via the cookie banner displayed on your first visit.

Cookies we set

• xerobit_consent — stores your cookie consent choice (EU/UK/CA visitors only). Expires after 12 months.
• xerobit_theme — stores your preferred light/dark mode.
• Ad cookies set by Google — see Google's policy linked above.

Email

If you email hello@xerobit.dev or security@xerobit.dev, your email address and message are processed by the email provider (currently Google Workspace). We retain emails for as long as needed to respond and for reasonable follow-up — typically under 12 months.

Data retention

• Analytics data: 12 months (Vercel default)
• Email correspondence: up to 24 months
• Tool inputs: never stored

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (EU, UK, California, etc.) you have rights to request access to, deletion of, or correction of your personal data. Since we don't store tool inputs and collect only anonymous analytics, most of these requests are satisfied by default. For any formal request, email hello@xerobit.dev.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "Last updated" date above and note material changes on this page. Continued use of Xerobit after changes constitutes acceptance.
