Text Repeater: Duplicate Any Word or Phrase Instantly

This text repeater duplicates any word, phrase or block of text a specific number of times. Enter your string, choose how many copies you need and pick a separator such as a space, comma or newline. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server.

Result

hello hello hello hello hello

How to use the text repeater

  1. Enter the word, phrase or block of text you want to duplicate in the Text to repeat field.
  2. Set the Number of times you need the text repeated. Values from 1 to 100,000 are accepted.
  3. Choose a Separator from the dropdown: none, space, new line, comma and space, or hyphen.
  4. The output updates instantly as you type. Click inside the result box to select and copy it.

How repeating text works under the hood

A text repeater takes an input string and concatenates it with itself a given number of times, inserting a chosen delimiter between each copy. If the input is ha, the count is 4 and the separator is a space, the logic builds an array of four identical strings and joins them: ["ha", "ha", "ha", "ha"].join(" "), producing ha ha ha ha.

When the separator is set to none, the join uses an empty string, so the same inputs yield hahaha. For multiline output, the join character is a newline (\n), which places each copy on its own line. This array-join approach handles Unicode characters, including emojis and right-to-left scripts, without corrupting surrogate pairs.

Practical ways to repeat words

Duplicating strings solves several concrete problems. Social media users repeat words to convey excitement or frustration in comments. Developers use repeated strings to build test payloads that check how an application handles large text inputs. Designers generate blocks of dummy text for mockups when they need uniform content rather than varied filler.

Another frequent use case is formatting data. If you need a CSV column filled with the same value, setting the separator to comma and space produces a ready-to-paste row. ASCII art and decorative borders also rely on repeating short symbol sequences like -*- dozens of times.

Separator reference table

The separator determines what appears between each copy. The table below shows the result of repeating the word test three times with every available option.

Performance limits and memory considerations

Repeating a short word a few hundred times is trivial for any modern device. However, duplicating a large paragraph 100,000 times can produce hundreds of megabytes of text, which may freeze the browser tab. This text repeater caps the count at 100,000 to prevent accidental memory exhaustion.

If you need to generate extremely large files, consider writing a short script using Node.js or Python instead of running the operation in a browser tab. For most everyday tasks like repeating words for a social post or generating a short test string, the browser limit is more than sufficient.

FAQ

What is a text repeater?

A text repeater is a utility that duplicates a given string a specified number of times. You provide the text, the count and an optional separator, and it returns the combined result.

Is there a limit to how many times I can repeat words?

This tool allows up to 100,000 repetitions. Very high counts with long input strings can consume significant memory, so the cap prevents the browser tab from freezing.

Can I repeat text with line breaks between each copy?

Yes. Select the New line option from the Separator dropdown. Each copy will appear on its own line in the output.

Does the tool work with emojis and special characters?

It does. The text repeater handles full Unicode, so emojis, accented letters and non-Latin scripts are duplicated correctly without corruption.

Is my text sent to a server when I use this page?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Nothing you type or paste is uploaded anywhere.

How do I copy the repeated text?

Click inside the result area and use your operating system shortcut: Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C on Windows and Linux, or Cmd+A then Cmd+C on Mac.
